Before you order, please take 2 minutes to check these three requirements. This ensures the Duiker Biometric Lock will fit your door perfectly and perform at its best.

1. Measure Your "Stile" (Frame Width)

The "stile" is the vertical frame of your door where the lock is installed. Because this is a slim-line lock designed for Australian aluminium and screen doors, it requires a minimum frame width to sit flush.

• Minimum Stile recommended:  40mm wide.
• Why? This ensures the lock body (mortise) fits inside the frame and the handle plates do not overhang the glass or screen.

2. Check Your "Clearance" (For Screen Doors)

If you are installing this on a screen door or a gate that sits in front of another door, please check the depth clearance.

• Rear Panel Depth: 65mm.
• Measurement: Close your screen door and measure the distance between the screen door face and your main house door.
• Requirement: You need at least 70mm of clearance to ensure the Duiker handle does not touch your main door when both are closed.

3. Confirm Your "Backset" Distance

The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of your current handle or keyhole.

• Common Sizes: In Australia, most aluminium doors use a 28mm, 30mm, 35mm or 40mm backset.
• How to check: Open your door and measure from the very edge of the door to the center of the cylinder hole.
• Note: If you are installing on a brand-new door, your installer can cut the hole to suit our standard 35mm mortise.

4. Test Your Wi-Fi Signal at the Gate

Since this lock features a Video Intercom, it needs a stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection to stream video to your phone or the Duiker Monitor.

• The Smartphone Test: Stand at your gate with the door closed and check the Wi-Fi bars on your phone.
• Result: * 3+ Bars: You are ready to go!
• 1–2 Bars: We strongly recommend adding a Wi-Fi Extender or Access Point inside the house, closest to the gate, to ensure smooth video and better battery life.

Q: Can I use the Smart Life app instead of Tuya? A: Yes. The Duiker Smart Lock is fully compatible with both the Tuya Smart and Smart Life apps. Both apps offer the same high-speed video intercom and remote unlocking features.
